Chapter 7 - Premium Features

7.1 Dark Matter

The currency used in the game to pay for officers, use of the resource Trader, planet moves, and other premium features that may be added in the future. These features are not required to advance in the game, and do not provide any player with an unfair advantage over another. To use any of these premium features, you must have sufficient Dark Matter.

You can buy Dark Matter as an in-app purchase by tapping Officers in the Main Menu (or the Dark Matter display on the Menu Bar) and selecting the Purchase tab. Prices will automatically load and reflect the currency of your local country or app store and may also reflect sales tax.

7.2 Officers

The game currently offers 5 officers, each available for a fee of Dark Matter. A player may hire an officer for a single day, a week, or a month. Once hired, the officer provides specific benefits to the player. You can hire officers by tapping Officers in the Main Menu and selecting the Officers tab at the top left of the screen.

The benefits provided by some officers decrease as a player’s score increases, so that new players can advance more quickly by hiring those officers, while experienced players benefit much less.

The Geologist is an expert in mineralogy, metallurgy and chemistry. Utilizing state-of-the-art equipment for surveying, the Geologist can locate optimal areas for mining, boosting mine efficiency and production.

A master at organizing large construction projects, the Engineer increases the production speed of new buildings. He also optimizes energy production and distribution across all planets.

  • 30% increase in energy production (or 10% for top 50 ranks).

7.2.3 Scientist

The Scientist is the foremost authority on research and development. With a natural genius for mathematics and physics, this officer can significantly reduce the time required to research new technologies.

The Scientist reduces the time required for research projects by 30% (or 10% for the top 50 ranks).

7.3 Trader

The Trader oversees the Scrap Yard, where a player can swap one resource on a planet for another, based on a set exchange rate of 3:2:1 for metal, crystal and deuterium. (Example: swap 1000 units of deuterium for 2000 units of crystal or 3000 units of metal). To access the Trader, tap Officers in the Main Menu and select the Scrap Yard tab.

  • From the “Call Trader” dropdown list, select the resource that you wish to sell, then tap the green “Call Trader” button.
  • On the next screen, enter the amount of the resource(s) you wish to buy in exchange for the one you are selling (you may select two resources at once). Listed below each resource is the maximum available storage for that resource on your current planet. Successful trades are subject to having enough space to store the resource you are trading for, and having enough of the resource you are selling to complete the trade. If either of these conditions is not met, a red warning message appears.
  • If the requirements of the trade are correct, press the green Swap button to complete the trade. A successful trade will produce a green confirmation message. The resources on your planet will be adjusted automatically to reflect the trade.
